SamTrans is replacing the first of its 200 passenger shelters with contemporary, solar-powered lighted shelters. The new shelters, which will be cleaned twice a week by CBS Outdoor, the company responsible for installing and maintaining the shelters, include a system map, an area for advertising and trash cans.
Twelve new shelters have been installed in Redwood City, San Carlos, Belmont and San Mateo along El Camino Real. The older shelters have been removed and the new ones installed over the existing footprint.
